June 19, Iowa city 2 nd night Laura went to work early. Tanner and I had cereal as breakfast. I will play flute today. I normally stay two nights in most places i visit. The first day I was on road and arrived in new city, I looked around. The second day I have time to play flute to make money. If I stay one night, leave on next morning, I feel too rush,it is also not enough time to build closer friendship with my host family. Two nights is perfect, Three nights will be too long, I might become a burden for my host. Tanner dropped me in downtown. I started to work. while I played at the postoffice, A Asian young man with friendly smile came in and came out. When he passed by me, he said "jiayou" and wave his arm to me. He is Chinese! He recognized I am Chinese, and gave me encouragement. This is the most beautiful language I have ever heard during these 51 days I h've been being on road. Not because it is Chinese , my native language, it is "Jiayou" spoken in Chinese. most Chinese people tend to have conservative and defentive characters. Rare can give others a "jai you" for encourage. I felt so cheerful to hear such words in my native language from a young man from my motherland.I love the US, I love China too. I love white, black, I love Chinese too. This love is naturally with more passionate in my blood. God made me to be Chinese, God must know that is the best for me. A man who has "cool" looking came in and came out. I gave him big smile and said "good morning" when he came in, what he said to me is "this is panhandle! , it is illegal!" His respond looked like that he was made of whole hate. I am not afraid of him. I know the reason he doesn't like me standing there, because he doesn't like this world.so no one can entertain him. When the cool man came out,his hate was growing with time passed, or his second sight of me stirred his stronger wrath: "they will call police to remove you!" this words made me little bit nervous. But I know I doesn't worth police. If policeman come to put me in jail, that 's ok. I will have more stories to write. So I still stayed there. a lady came to talk to me, her name is Sherry, she said she passed by here, and saw me. She was too curious, just couldn't resist. After she knew what I am doing, she was so excited, she thought I should have a sign, let people know I am traveling, otherwise they will think I am panhandler. So she went to store to buy a board. When she came back, there were a big white board and several mark pen in her hands. We started this new project.what should we write on the board? Sherry wanted to write a long article, " my name is Spring, I'm from China..." I had to insist to tell her that's too long. I have 45 years history on earth, if I write them all, this board is not big enough, that need at least 2 or 3lbs A4 papers. What I thought is " traveling on budge, looking for work". I had thought to use a sign to look for sleeping place, " looking for work and sleeping place", but I found that might lead people misunderstanding: you want to work and you want to sleep, what do you want to do? So I think I should not put work and sleep together. If some one hire me , I may tell them I need a place to stay for the night. Sherry started to write : my name is Spring.i'm traveling the US on budge.looking for work. Or any help welcome.Bless you. I am pretty satisfied for her writing. She let me do some decoration. So with a red mark pen I draw some flowers around her writing and a smiling face on the corner of the bottom. Now I have a sign! I am a professional hitchhiker and professional traveler and professional street performer. I am trinity! Sherry was so happy for what she did for me. She thanked me because " you made my day!" You look! not only I thanked her, it was she who thanked me. any blessing is two sides. Give and receive all are blessed for each other. God love us, if we refuse His love, we cannot be blessed by Him. sherry said she will come back to take me for lunch at 12am. Before a worker went out to let me go, I made $10, and had 3 big fun: "Jia you " , cool man , and sherry. I thought I need give sherry a call tell her that i moved away. But I couldn't found telephone and then couldn't found her card. So I just lift a prayer to God instead. I moved to the shopping mall, this is pretty good spot too. My sign indeed works. When I took break, sat there typing my little iPod, someone put money in the tip hat. They paid even without hearing my music. So I harshly stopped typing, said "I sing a song for you." they answered: "it's ok. You have the sign." This world is too good,you can get what you need just tell them you need. But I still like to provide some beauty to the world for exchange the love of God. It was getting evening, my phone rang,I thought it was Tanner to call me back home or come to pick me. No, it was Chris! I felt my head immediately started to grow in its size. Yesterday I thought "I am done with this person ." when I got his email that "I am not able to host you because your plan is not enough." so I finally can take a breath. But I was wrong,He has not finished yet. I even didn't know what he talked about.what I said on the phone was "thank you so much!" many times. Christ is new on couch surfing website. I am willing to be the first suffer for the new host families. Because when I started to contact the hosts before my traveling, I did not get any "yes" responds. so I know the newcomers need pass difficult time.I am ready to leave my kindness in their home,leave positive reference on their website. But Christ changed his mind, he decided not to host me,that ok. Home is his home, he has the door key, he is the master to open or close it. The issue is that I 've already understand his meaning, he doesn't need call me more and more and talk more and more to check if my plan is enough or my life stories are Interesting. If he love me that much, may just simply be as Jeff: where are you, Spring, Let me host you. People are really different, so there are too much fun in this world. next door of shopping mall is sandwich store,I borrowed the young man Jim's telephone to call my next host in Chicago. Luckily, after Christ, I got three families to host me in Chicago. I will stay 6 days. Chicago will be the city i stay the longest time during my traveling to date. God is provider.As I said I would not ran in naked in Chicago, God's love covers me. After a little Jim went out and put a cup beside me, told me " you can come in to have some drink and eat." so I went inside to take a cup grape juice. He asked if I want a sandwich. I looked the manual, asked how much is the cost. He answered "it's free. " wow, "your boss .." " I am the boss.". So I sat outside with my music stand , ate sandwich and drank juice, I even have a tray to carry my food. Now both my wallet and my stomach were happy, I returned the tray to Jim, and packaged my stuff. A young man gave me ride , delivered me to Tanner and Laural's sweet home: I have a colorful couch for my dreamland here.
