August 30 Dumas TX Hart feeder , 75, 000 cows. About 7:30, we arrived in Amarillo , Ming stopped at truck stop. He told where is hotel , if I happened any trouble , I may know where I stay. He is nice young man, Last night he steamed potstickers, this was the first time I ate potstickers in these 4 months trip. When I got out of truck, he let me take water, said " good luck." Ming was just too neverous , he said when pass Arizana , policeman will check , they especially check Chinese drivers. He said his wife was in truck , she needed her company to write a certificate. He likes to drive in night , because less traffic and less police checks. I left Ming's truck, walked through under the bridge to Macdonald. I did face work in bathroom and checked map on iPod, I decided to go north. Because I have went the road from Amarillo to Albuquerque , a Mexican young man Philip drove me these 280 miles. I remembered his beautiful smile and cheerful whistle. I have wonderful memory about philip. But I don't want repeat same road, so I decided to go north, through Denver to Yellowstone. After getting the idea, I went out to thumb up. William picked me up , he dropped me at 287 north entrance. He is well travel person. It looks totally naturally for him that i thumb on roadside and he picked me up. This is very good spot, a truck with all kinds of working tools stopped. His name is Bill. Same as William, Bill had no any specially feeling for a thumbing woman, Very calmly He just told me he hitch hiked across whole country when he was 20 something. Bill drove me to a town beyond Domas , I forgot name. I waited there a while . A van stopped. His name is Keith, he wasnt going to something place, he sounded just found me and picked me up and immadietely decided to give a tour after he read my card " I want to see this world" " I show you the world." I even did not ask where he was going to drive me. I trust people,that 's all. He drove back to Dumas, to his home, show me his paintings , his chaps. That's new for me, I have never seen chaps. He sews chaps to make money, some cow leather some Buffulo leather. He buy leather cost $170,sell chap $320. I put on chap for fun. And then he drove me to the place he works. I was totally sleepy in car , I did not have enough rest in truck last night. There are two stories beds in Ming's truck. While he drove , I sat in front seat. While we slept, the motor still runing. I was too tired. I thought that 's right Ming let me out of truck at amarillo. If I with him go to Las Vigas, I would suffer more. Last time I got a 1000 miles ride from Denver until grand island, I felt my legs became soft. My head became mud. I don't know the drivers are ok when they drive so long distance. Here is Hartley feeder. It is 25 miles from Keith's home. He made two requests to his two bosses. When we got there, a tall young man with red shirt was outside , was ready to get car. Keith guided me to him. "Hi, Bob, this lady is from China, she has never seen 75,000 cows in one place. Can we just drive through, she may take some photos ." Bob is friendly , they had simple talk, and then Bob went to his car. Keith guided me to the building , this is main office, we will see the bigger boss. " hi, Tim, this lady is from China ,She has never seen 75,000 cows in one place. ...." We signed names and time on a form , and then started the tour. That 's true , I have never seen so many cows in my life. They are big.I like them. I thought of movie " red river " cowboy story. I saw many big trucks went by, Keith said they drive cow to Macdonald to make hamburgers . They came here small skinny, about 100 days , they left when they are big. They eat a lot of corn. We met another truck, Keith introduced me to the driver "hi, Kerry , this lady is china , she had never seen 75,000 cows ... " A cowboy was riding horse in the pen. I guessed the reason that cowboy on horse is that he can run faster than cows if he was attacked by cows, and he is taller than cows when he is on the horse back. So he can see well for his job. This was a wonderful tour. I was do happy about this even I was in very sleepy. We ate Mexican food. There were some beef with green paper and onion. I had some strange feeling when chew the beef in my mouth after seeing 75000 cows and Keith told me they go to Macdonald to become hambergers . We shopped some food in next door grocery store for cooking dinner. After lunch and nap in home, I felt better, I got up and cleaned the dishes and kichen. Evening Keith went to a meeting . He said he will come back at 9:30, told me just be same at home.
